Short rules:
1. No sexual content.
2. No god moding or meta-gaming.
3. Be respectful.
4. three characters max.
5. No one-liners.
6. write only in third person.
7. CAUTION: this site may contain gory content.
8. Admin/mod's word is rule.
9. No double-posting.
10. No spamming.
Explained rules:
1. No sexual content in or out of roleplay. This is one big no no. If you wish to have a romantic scene involving sexual intercourse of some form between your character and another, then please make it a "Fade to Black" scenario. An example of this would be "He held his sweet lover in his arms, her hands on his chest and their lips pressed affectionately against one another, he loved her, he wished he could stay with her forever...."
(Next paragraph/scene)
"He woke up, it was morning now as the sunlight poured in from a crack in the window blinds. He slowly climbed out of his bed, making sure not to disturb his lover, who had been sleeping next to him, minus her clothing. His clothing was strewn about on the ground, as well as her own, and he calmly set about to picking up each article of clothing and folding it up."
You get the picture. You can say it happened, but you can't describe or roleplay out what happened. If you are experiencing intimacy with another player then you must ensure you have the other player's consent, and still perform the fade to black.
2. No god modding or meta-gaming. It gets you in trouble and makes yourself look like a jack-ass.
God modding: The act of forcing an action upon another character or the act of making your character grossly overpowered beyond believability.
Example: "He shot his bolter at the man, hitting him in the chest and killing him"
"He brought forth the powers of the warp, easily crushing the planet he was on into rock. He then teleported back onto his ship."
Meta-gaming: The act of using OOC knowledge in IC.
Example: OOC conversation: "Well, my character is really a spy who wants to get close to your character so he can kill him." IC reaction: "The man turned around and pointed at his group's newest member, shouting, "He's just a spy! Kill him!"
So please, keep your character believable, don't force an action onto another player where they have absolutely no ability to evade, block or avoid in some way, and don't say you know something unless you have the evidence ICly to support it.
3. Be respectful of the other players. This is not, and never will be, the piss and moan society. You don't like something, then inform a moderator or administrator instead of complaining like some spoiled brat in the general discussion or even in PMs. Complaining in the general boards is obnoxious and unwanted, while doing the same thing in PMs to the targeted person can be considered as harassment.
4. You may only have three characters maximum, and they can not be of the same role. Meaning you may not have two daemon characters, or two space marine characters or two eldar characters, ect ect. You MAY, however, have multiple characters of the same neutral thread category. Meaning you may have a cultist character and a daemon character, or an eldar character and an ork character, or an inquisitor and an imperial guardsman, ect ect.
5. No one-liners!!!!
I don't want a set-limit of lines you need per post, that's just idiotic, but i definitely don't want someone making a single-line post. Please, try to aim for at least ten lines, if you can't do ten lines then there can be exceptions made considering how much you have to work with and such. If you are in a situation that is like a small turn, then don't stress yourself. If you can't make ten lines without busting your brain, then hopefully the staff will understand.
6. Please only write in third-person only, no second or first person, it gets way too confusing.
7. Warhammer 40k is not a franchise filled with butterflies, rainbows and unicorns. There WILL be blood, guts, gore and other things that are not recommended for those with weak stomachs. If you can't take the heat, then get out of the kitchen.
8. When an admin or a moderator makes a decision, you are in no place to argue it. They're in charge, and they make the rules.
9. NO DOUBLE-POSTING!!!
I cannot stress this enough. Double-posting is rude, shows you are impatient, and overall is not a good thing. You may double-post on a thread AFTER 3 days have gone by and there has been no response to the thread. If you have something to change on your post, then please just hit modify and add in the word "Edit:" and then the message you wanted to add. Thank you.
10. No spamming, this is self-explanatory.
